The iPhone 6 and it's big brother, the iPhone 6 Plus, go on sale tonight
at midnight, PST. Apple's inventory will undoubtedly be drained before
the weekend, or maybe even the day, is over. With that in mind, we've
got laid out links to the four major carriers for your pre-ordering
pleasure, since Apple's site will likely be crushed with traffic. Also,
if you prefer to order directly from Apple but can't get on the site,
try using the Apple Store App.When the pre-order floodgates open at midnight, here's where you want to go:
Pre-order the new iPhones from Verizon Wireless
- Verizon will give you $200 in credit for an iPhone 4, 4S, 5, or 5C, and $300 for an iPhone 5S, towards the cost of your new iPhone with two-year contract.
- AT&T is offering the same trade-in values as Verizon: $200 in credit for an iPhone 4, 4S, 5, or 5C, and $300 for an iPhone 5S, towards the cost of your new iPhone with two-year contract.
Pre-order the new iPhones from Sprint
If you'd rather have cash or store credit for your old device - not just an iPhone - plenty of retailers will buy it off you.
To see what kind of deals are being offered, we ran through the trade-in estimators for an iPhone 5S. Here are the results:
Best Buy offered $300 in the form of store credit.
uSell offered $252 for a the phone in "good" condition.
NextWorth offered $192.
You an even get some money for a phone with cracked or otherwise damaged screen. It may not be a lot, but it's better than letting it rust in a desk drawer
